Manufacturing Process

    • Slitting : Prime HR Coils are first slit into predetermined width as per the sizes & thickness of the pipes
    • Forming : The slit coils are passed through a set of Pinch , Levelling rolls & forming rolls.
    • Welding : The formed tubes are than welded through a continuous process of High Frequency Welding using Electric Resistance Welding Technique. The excess weld material is removed with a stationed tool in the running process.
    • Sizing : Before cutting of pipes in fixed lengths with cold saw cutting machine the pipes are passed through a set of Sizing rolls to maintain dimensional accuracy of pipes as per the standard specifications. In the case of hollow sections the SHS/RHS forming assembly on the pipe mill further processed the pipe to convert it into SHS/RHS
    • End facing : It is a process of chamfering the ends of the pipes & SHS/RHS to make it square cut and smooth before galvanising.
    • Hydro testing : The pipes are then tested hydraulically at the specified test pressure maintained for a time as specified by the relevant standard.
    • Packing : The hydro tested pipes are then sent for galvanizing in the Galvanizing Section. Some of the pipes are sold without galvanizing and with or without threading. Such pipes are packed in bundles as per specific requirement of the standards.
    • Galvanizing : The galvanizing process is used to galvanize pipes/hollow sections with zinc through the hot dip galvanizing process which increases the life of the pipes/hollow sections and prevents them from rusting.
  • Threading : The MS black/galvanized steel pipes are threaded and socketed as per the requirement of the specified standards. The threaded pipes are then packed in bundles as per standard specifications. The threaded area is covered with plastic caps for protection during transit, and the socketed area is covered with extra packing material them protect from damage during transportation.
